The Linda Lindas have outlined plans for their third album.
The follow-up to 2024's 'No Obligation' is titled 'Gotta Get Out' and is set to arrive on August 28, marking the Los Angeles quartet's full first full-length release via Reprise/Warner Records.
After growing their fanbase through several releases and tours, the band spent time in Palm Springs and Long Beach to write the album together in the same room for the first time. It'll include their June single Burning Out, along with the newly shared Closer, which started out as a bilingual song by guitarist Bela Salazar and vocalist-guitarist Lucia de la Garza before growing into a guitar-driven track with layered vocals featuring Paramore's Hayley Williams. The pair explained:
"Closer is about feeling like you’re losing control of time, and watching yourself grow older from afar. Lately, we’ve been realising how important it is to stay present, especially when our lives feel constantly in motion. It feels perfect that Hayley Williams was down to collaborate on this song with us, because we’ve been fans of her throughout so many of her different eras - and she’s seen us grow up over the last ten years! We’ll always be honoured that we got to write and get emo with the queen of emo herself.”
The Linda Lindas, completed by Mila de la Garza and Eloise Wong, will hit road on the US West Coast with Bleachers in September, followed by an appearance at Tom Morello's Power To The People Festival in Columbia, Maryland on October 3. Tickets are on sale now.
