Protomartyr have shared a second track from their upcoming album.

Following last month's lead single Sounds We Cannot Hear, which reflected on the paralysis of modern life, Feed The Sewer takes aim AI through thundering percussion, brooding guitars and a tense, uneasy atmosphere. Vocalist Joe Casey explained:

"The title comes from a line of dialogue in a Peter Greenaway movie. The sentiment of the song is that artificial intelligence is against humanity. The belief is that people are often willing to destroy the world in exchange for convenience. The lyrics are the usual mish-mash of political fears, personal grievances, literary references, and poop jokes. The music is very loud, like a data center."

Head below to view the song's Andrew Theodore Balasia-directed video, which stars Nate Varrone, who previously featured in the promo for Sounds We Cannot Hear.

"Loneliness in the age of surveillance is the theme we explored for this video," Balasia said. "The motel becomes a physical microcosm of data collection, each room a profile - each guest willingly paying to stay in a room that is being monitored by strangers. The banality of what’s being observed becomes its own source of unease, stripping away spectacle until all that remains is the dull, unsettling desire to connect with anything."

The track offers another glimpse into 'Hotel Usona', which finds Casey imagining his country as an ageing hotel, with each song representing a different troubled guest. It was recorded with esteemed producer Dave Fridmann at his own Tarbox Road Studios in western New York and is set to arrive on September 25 via Domino.

Ahead of its release, the Detroit post-punks have announced a series of special events, including an album playback and Q&A session in Paris, a takeover of grindhouse cinema The Nickel in London, and a playback, Q&A and signing event in Berlin.

They'll also support 'Hotel Usona' with a North American tour this fall, followed by UK and European shows in February. Tickets are on sale now.
