Shabazz Palaces, the art-rap project of producer and musician Ishmael Butler, will release his eighth album this autumn.

The Seatlle-based artist is set to follow-up the mini-albums 'Robed in Rareness' (2023) and 'Exotic Birds of Prey' (2024) with 'It’s a Style Sport' on October 23 via Sub Pop.

Produced with Erik Blood and featuring contributions from guest artists Marquette Miller, Thaddillac, Evan Flory-Barnes, Gerald “Tugboat” Turner, Kassa Overall and Carlos Overall, the album is previewed by the opening track Ahh World (I Won the Alpha Bet), a hazy, minimal arrangement that blends a hypnotic groove with spacey electronics.

Shabazz Palaces currently has just one live date in the diary, a perfomance at the Knockdown Center in Queens, New York as part of the Splendor & Misery Fest tomorrow (August 13)
