The first acts have been announced for a new music weekender in Blackpool.

The inaugural Indie By The Sea will take place over next year's May bank holiday weekend at Blackpool Winter Gardens, featuring a line-up of bands and songwriters who shaped British guitar music from the late '80s, '90s and beyond.

Across two days, the event will host bands and solo artists spanning Madchester, baggy, Britpop and guitar music, with after-hours parties from Bez of Happy Mondays and Black Grape and broadcaster journalist John Robb.

Leading the line-up are Ocean Colour Scene (pictured), Peter Hook & The Light, Embrace, and Black Grape. Head below to check out the full line-up to date and further details, including ticket information.

When? May 1 and 2, 2027.

Who? Confirmed for the bill so far are Ocean Colour Scene, Peter Hook & The Light, Embrace, Black Grape, former Mansun frontman Paul Draper, The Wedding Present, Space, The Primitives, and Cud. There will also be sets from Ben Ottewell of Gomez, Mark Morriss of The Bluetones, James Walsh of Starsailor and Ian Prowse of Pele and Amsterdam, each performing songs from across their own catalogues. Further acts are still to be revealed.
