corto.alto, aka Scottish artist Liam Shortall, has collaborated with Jacob Alon for a new single, NOBLEHILL.

The emotional track blends fellow Scottish aritst Alon's soaring vocals with finger-picked acoustic guitar as well as orchestral and electronic elements, while exploring family, location and memory, the central themes of Shortall's new album, 'SOME SMALL FORTUNE'. He said:

“I only believe in making music that’s honest and comes from me. In the last six months a lot of my life has changed, my parents moved out of our family home and that led to lots of old family photos being discovered and me reflecting on memories. I kept thinking about my younger self and the experiences I couldn’t remember anymore. The record became dedicated to memory, nostalgia and being grateful for what I have, even if as I get older the past becomes unreliable. It produced a sound that’s lighthearted and jumps around – it’s an expression of me feeling free to prioritise the moment, no matter what it brings.”

Shortall previously teased the album, due out on September 4 via Ninja Tune, with the earlier singles IJUSTIDONTKNOW, GO, THIEF, DON'T LISTEN, WHODIS and his 2025 track APRIL featuring Anaiis.

He'll support 'SOME SMALL FORTUNE' with a series of UK in-store performances next month, before a UK and European tour this autumn, followed by a return to the US for a show at New York's Le Poisson Rouge. Next year, he's lined up a hometown performance at Glasgow's Barrowlands Ballroom in January, the same venue that hosted his 2,000-capacity Made In Glasgow mini-festival in 2025.
