Bonobo is continuing the rollout of his upcoming album with a new single.

With the demo emerging soon after 2022's 'Fragments' and an early version appearing in Green's 2023 Boiler Room set in Amsterdam, Talk To Me has now evolved into a dreamy, electronic track featuring soft, hypnotic vocals from Nicole Miglis of Hundred Waters. Introducing it, Green explained:

"The choral sound that it starts with, the sort of reverb of “ooh" and "ahs”. That's me and Nicole in a backstage corridor in Vienna on the ‘Fragments’ tour. She was doing her vocal warm-ups and I just sort of interrupted her by joining in and harmonizing and recording it on my phone. You can actually hear our tour manager in the background shouting “10 minutes”. It’s all still in the recording used on the record. I made the original version in a backstage green room, and also in a hotel room in Milan – it was called Milano for ages – and then finished on the tour bus over the next few days. It was something that existed in demo form for a few years."

The collaboration follows earlier singles Always On Your Side with Joy Crookes, Fire On The Water featuring Arooj Aftab, Drift and Me and You in previewing 'Distance In Static', due out on September 11. The album also includes collaborations with Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Aanya Martin and Kanako Yamamoto.

Bonobo will support the album with his Distance In Static Live North American tour in November and December, which will see him perform a new live show designed by Pierre Claude. He also has several UK and European DJ dates scheduled over the next few weeks. As a preview, check out a recent London rooftop DJ set for Mixmag below.
