Tyler Ballgame has released a new standalone single, Live It Down.

The song was recorded alongside Jonathan Rado, whose previous credits include Foxygen, Miley Cyrus and Weyes Blood, and Ryan Pollie (aka Los Angeles Police Department), who also worked on Ballgame's debut album 'For The First Time, Again', released in January. The acoustic, groove-driven track arrives with a visualiser by Jayla Smith. Ballgame explained:

"It’s about cannibalizing your life and relationships as a songwriter and is, in the gentlest of ways, a middle finger of a break-up song… however, I do subscribe to John Lennon’s quote when asked about writing diss tracks to McCartney, where he said “it’s always about me. I’m attacking myself.” The track itself was extremely fun to make and includes zither tape loops, and Ryan Pollie playing mic’d up furniture. It’s an excellent showcase of the energy of Amy and Wayne’s special drum and bass connection and is glued together by Ryan and Rado’s unique textural production choices."

Fresh from supporting Alabama Shakes, The Lumineers, Belle and Sebastian, and Lewis Capaldi, the Rhode Island-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter will continue touring across Europe and the UK this summer, with the run including sets at Green Man festival in Brecon and Electric Picnic in Ireland next month. He also has headline shows lined up in Manchester, London and Bristol in September, followed by US dates from September 14 to November 12. Tickets are on sale now.
