Skindred have extended their You Got This Tour into spring next year.

Fresh from their performance supporting Alter Bridge at the inaugural Blackbird Festival at Cardiff Castle over the weekend, the Newport ragga-metal band have confirmed they'll return to the city for a huge show at the Utilita Arena on May 8. Taking to social media to confirm the details, the band wrote:

"Cardiff - Thank you to everyone that came out and showed us so much love at the amazing Blackbird Festival at the weekend and to Alterbridge for offering us this amazing opportunity. What a truly fantastic day that was and such a brilliant lineup. Thank you.

"Anyway good people of Cardiff, we wanted to also let you know that we are going to be coming straight back to headline our own special headline show next year at Cardiff's Utilita Arena on Saturday May 8th."

The show will follow the MOBO Award-winners' previously scheduled autumn dates in Nottingham, Birmingham, Dublin, Belfast and Glasgow, as well as a special Halloween performance at London's Alexandra Palace on October 31. 

They'll also embark on their first headline tour of Australia in September, following their remaining summer UK and European dates, including a headline appearance at Manchester's Radar Festival, and slots at Boomtown Fair and Beautiful Days festival in August. 

Tickets for the new Cardiff show go on general sale at 10am on Friday (July 3). Their summer dates are on sale now.

The tour takes its name from Skindred's Jay Rushton-produced album, 'You Got This', which earned the band their first number one on the Official UK Albums Chart upon its release in April.
