Northlane have laid out plans for their seventh studio album.
The Australian metallers will release 'Anemoia', the follow-up to 2022's 'Obsidian', on October 30. Produced by former Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish, the album explores how trance music can naturally blend with guitars and heavy sounds, with frontman Marcus Bridge revealing, "There's darkness here, but it's not nihilism - and there's hope, but it's not naivety."
Alongside the news, the four-piece have shared the album's second single, CUT_it, which is driven by an intense heavy groove and showcases a darker side of Bridge's vocal range. He explained:
"CUT_it is about burnout - the feeling of grinding through things when you're completely spent, mentally and physically. The imagery is deliberately visceral, painting a picture of that exhaustion rather than analysing it."
The album will also include their previous single Evian, released in April, as well as a collaboration with Dayseeker on the title track, with Northlane set to support the Orange County post-hardcore band on a UK and European tour in November and December.
Prior to that, they'll continue their summer run of UK and European shows, including an appearance at the UK's Bloodstock Festival this week, followed by the Hellbound Cruise in Sydney, Australia in October.
Since their last album, Northlane have also released the 'Mirror's Edge' EP in 2024 and featured on the latest Audiotree From Nothing video series last year. They also put out a remixed, remastered, and partly re-recorded version of 'Node', titled 'Node: Reloaded', in 2025 to mark the album's 10th anniversary.
