Lucy Dacus has shared a video for her latest single, Planting Tomatoes.

The reflective indie-folk track was initially released as a limited edition Record Store Day exclusive 7" vinyl in April, before the singer-songwriter dropped the track onto streaming platforms later that month. A new Planting Tomatoes 7" green vinyl is also available exclusively via her webstore.

The self-directed video arrives following an intimate screening in New York City last night (July 8). It was shot entirely in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia and takes viewers through some of her favourite places, including Dogwood Dell, Hollywood Cemetery, James River Park Pony Pasture and friends' homes.

Filmed by local production team SpangTV and creative director Jordan Rodericks, who previously worked with Dacus on her Hot & Heavy video, alongside director of photography David Muessig, the video was edited by Laura Colwell of the band Sun June and also features students from local youth performing arts group SPARC and Dacus' father.

A special screening of the video will take place on July 30 at The Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virgina, followed by a Q&A with Dacus moderated by SPARC's Senior Faculty member Paul Major.

The video arrives ahead of Dacus' summer tour, which includes several festival appearances and two orchestral shows, one on July 19 at Millennium Park with the Chicago Philharmonic and another on September 13 at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Tickets are on sale now.

Dacus released her latest solo album, 'Forever Is A Feeling', in March 2025.
