Leon Bridges has outlined plans for his fifth album.

The six-time Grammy-nominated Texan artist will release the 12-track 'Happiness Anytime' as three four-song EPs, with the first arriving today and featuring Light The Way, Tears of Joy, Illusion and Your Love Is Electric, all of which serve up his signature soulful tones. The full album will arrive on September 25 via Columbia Records.

Produced by Bridges alongside Jungle's J Lloyd and Lydia Kitto, the album draws inspiration from Fela Kuti, Jorge Ben and the soulful sound of Bridges' 2015 debut album 'Coming Home'. He said:

“For me, happiness is not a feeling that you chase. I want this album to be something that lingers with people and lingers in people’s bones."

Kitto added: "Leon said he wants to have music that he can dance to. He wants to have moments where he can put the guitar down and just dance and perform at the front."

The announcement comes ahead of Bridges' second of two pop-up shows at London's Jazz Café tonight (July 17).

He released his fourth LP, 'Leon', in 2024 and has since collaborated with several artists, including Norah Jones on last year's festive duet This Christmas I'm Coming Home.
