Laura Veirs has shared another single ahead of the release of her new album.

Following Flying Into Darkness and Pulse, Arc Still Bends delivers a dreamy, acoustic guitar-led arrangement and offers a further glimpse into 'Temple Songs', due out via the Portland, Oregon-based artist's Raven Marching Band Records label this Friday (August 14). She explained:

"This song wrestles with whether Martin Luther King Jr.’s idea that ‘the arc of the moral universe bends toward justice’ still holds true.

"It sits in that uneasy space between doubt and hope–grappling with a sense of futility in the present moment, while the chorus reaches for something brighter: ‘I’ve been searching for a remedy / guess I’ll keep searching / but three sunbeams I found / warm the cold ground.’ For me, those rays show up in the sound itself—the electric guitar lines in the chorus sound like sunlight to me."

Veirs will celebrate 'Temple Songs' with UK and Ireland shows next month, followed by an extensive US headlining tour in October, with Karl Blau opening. Tickets are on sale now.

At the end of last month, Veirs, Neko Case and k.d. lang shared a previously unreleased live version of People Have The Power, which will feature on a 10th anniversary deluxe edition of their joint 2016 self-titled album, 'case/lang/veirs', due out on September 4 via Anti- Records.
