Drag Talk have laid out plans for their debut album.

The Los Angeles alt-rockers will release 'Drink The Ocean' through MNRK Heavy on October 30, following 2022's 'Dogs' EP and 2024's 'Rosy Crown' EP.

Produced by the band's longtime collaborator Tom Syrowski and recorded between his Los Angeles home studio and Hollywood's famous Henson Studios, the album draws on '90s alt-rock, shoegaze, Britpop, dream-pop and psychedelic influences from Swervedriver, The Verve and The Jesus and Mary Chain, while exploring themes of injustice, femininity and spirituality.

Collaborators on the album include super-producer Brendan O'Brien, who contributes Hammond organ on the title track, while Ghost's Olivia Morreale provides backing vocals on Welcome To The Aeon.

Alongside the announcement, Drag Talk — comprising vocalist Jutty Taylor and drummer Hayden Scott, who previously played together in Ghost, alongside guitarists Ross O’Carroll, Matt Ripp Bennett and Neil Popkin, the latter two formerly of War Tapes — have shared the record's fuzzed-up lead single, Pony Up, which blends big hooks and atmospheric textures with Taylor's genre-fluid vocals.

Drag Talk have a series of US shows lined up over the next few months. Head here for details and tickets.
