Dexys Midnight Runners have shared another taster of their upcoming album.

Following their spring single My Life In England Pt.1, the piano-led You’ve Got The Love pairs a sweeping string section with a Philly disco groove. Commenting on the track, vocalist Kevin Rowland explained:

"It’s nothing to do with the house track! When we started writing, I went to Mike [Timothy], have you got any ideas? and he sent me some, and I picked out two or three, which ended up on the album, and this was one of them. It was really simple. I was seeing a woman at the time, and I wrote the lyric, and Mike and I messed around until we were happy with it. The woman is not in my life anymore, so I’ve never told her I wrote it. I suppose I should. It might be nice for her to know."

'LOVE', the first studio record released under the name Dexys Midnight Runners since 1985's 'Don't Stand Me Down', is due out on September 4 via Heavenly Recordings. It could serve as the final chapter in the band's journey. 

Dexys will support the album with a UK and European tour this autumn, which includes two dates at London's Hackney Empire on October 27 and 28. They'll also appear for a series of intimate in-store signing sessions and stripped-back performances in September. Tickets are on sale now.
