Singin' In The Rain is a musical based on the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer classic film of the same name.

The original production opened in the West End on June 30, 1983, where it ran for more than two years. Since then, the stage adaptation has become hugely popular all over the world, the story follows the classic tale of film star Don Lockwood, his insufferable, tone-deaf co-star Lina Lamont and his talented love interest Kathy Selden.

The Lowry is a theatre and entertainment complex based on Pier 8 in Salford, Greater Manchester. First opened back in 2000, and boasting a capacity of around 2,000 (split between the main Lyric room and the smaller Quay), it has been one of city's staple locations for performance art, pantomime, and the likes. It also, however, acts as a gallery, and has a lot of work from L S Lowry - its namesake - amongst others spread over 2,000 square foot!
