Miranda Hart is a comedian, writer and actress from Torquay.

Starting her career writing and acting in small roles for a number of British sitcoms—including French & Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous, The Vicar of Dibley and Smack the Pony—she began to gain attention after landing a part in Not Going Out. Initially intended as another very small role, her performance impressed producers so much that she was written into the show as a series regular, where she played Lee and Kate's cleaner, Barbara.

Today, she is best known for her semi-autobiographical sitcom Miranda and for playing the role of Camilla in Call The Midwife, she is one of the UK's best-loved comic actors with a number of honours to her name, including two Royal Television Society Awards, a National Television Award and two BAFTA nominations.
