Eddie Izzard is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor and political activist, born in Yemen, but raised in various parts of the UK and Ireland.

She began her comedy career while in university, going on to tour her own stand-up comedy shows around the UK and eventually making her Comedy Store debut in 1987. She has since become one of the country's most beloved comedians, but is also known for her roles in the West End and on screen, having landed roles in films such as The Chronicles Of Narnia, Oceans Twelve and Thirteen, Valkyrie and many more.

Her efforts have earned her a number of honours and accolades, including Tony and Emmy Awards.
