2:54 are a lo-fi pop duo consisting of sisters Hannah and Colette Thurlow, named after a specific drum roll in a song by The Melvins, A History of Bad Men.

Initially having played in a punk rock band The Vulgarians, they began more experimental atmospheric music as 2:54.

When their first demo, created on GarageBand, began to get noticed by Nylon, Fader, and The Guardian, the set their sights on releasing their first EP, 'Scarlet', in late 2011. The following year saw a succession of singles You're Early, Sugar, and Creeping. The band's self-titled debut album dropped the same year on Fat Possum Record, and they followed this up after signing to Bella Union with 2014's 'The Other I'.
