Tony Hawk is a professional skateboarder and entrepreneur from San Diego, California.

Indisputably one of the most influential skateboarders of all time, he took interest in the sport at nine-years-old, when his brother gave him his first skateboard. He turned pro at the age of just 14, going on to become world champion 12 years in a row and, in 1999, earning true legend status after becoming the first skateboarder ever to complete a 900.

His enormously successful Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series with Activision remains a staple in the collections of gamers of all ages, and has launched his own line of skateboards (Birdhouse Skateboards) as well as a clothing line, a commercial production company (900 Films), and the Tony Hawk Signature Series of sporting goods and toys.

Also an active philanthropist, he founded The Skatepark Projecct, which helps to build skateparks in underprivileged areas in the US and beyond, that serve over six million visitors a year.
