Spandau Ballet are an English new wave and synth pop outfit hailing from Islington, London. Formed in 1979, the original line-up consisted of frontman Tony Hadley, guitarist Gary Kemp, saxophone player Steve Norman, bassist Martin Kemp and drummer John Keeble.

One of the leading lights of the new romantic movement, Spandau Ballet would first emerge with their debut single To Cut a Long Story Short, which reached #5 when it hit shelves back in 1980. It proved to be the first in a series of successful tracks, which helped the group become UK favourites.

Their original run saw them releasing six studio albums, four of which hit Top 10 and one of which - 1983's 'True' - became a platinum-selling #1. Following their split in 1990, the band's members would attempt solo careers before returning some 20 years later.

In 2009, they put out 'Once More' and in March 2015, they hit the UK's biggest arenas for their 'Soulboys of the Western World Live' Tour - they put on one hell of a show!

Tony Hadley announced his departure from the band in 2017, ruling out performing with them in the future. In June 2018, the Ballet announced their new singer would be Ross William Wild, and have since confirmed dates in Italy and the Netherlands, followed by a massive London October show at the Hammersmith Apollo.
