The Seattle Mariners are an American baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1977, they play in the American Leagues's West Division, which they have won on three occasions.

Getting off to a slow start after they were initially established - their first winning team lined-up in 1991, followed by their first Division Title in 1995 - the Mariners are still waiting for their first World Series appearance. 2001 was their most successful season, winning 116 games in a single season (an American League record) and picking up another title.
