Nitin Sawhney is a musician and producer from Rochester, Kent.

He began his career in the entertainment industry as a member of Secret Asians, the comedy team behind award-winning BBC sketch show Goodness Gracious Me. He eventually ventured down the professional music route in 1991, establishing a unique blend of global music through mixing elements of Indian and other Asian music with genres such as jazz, electronica, hip hop and classical.

He released his debut album 'Spirit Dance' in 1994, and has since followed it with 11 studio albums including, most recently, 'Immigrants' in 2021. He was awarded the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.

Nitin Sawhney has rescheduled his Immigrants Tour of the UK to March 2022 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. He will also play Cheltenham Jazz Festival later that spring.
