Joan Rivers is an American television personality and actress hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Also an accomplished stand-up comedian, she's been in show business for over 50 years, and along her lengthy and hugely successful career, she picked up the title of The Queen of Comedy.

She began performing in small scale plays and even once starred alongside Barbra Streisand, before taking the stage as a stand-up comic. Rivers soon found herself on television, making her debut on The Today Show. From then on, she was a regular fixture on television.
