Joan Armatrading Tickets, Tour Dates and Events

Joan Armatrading is a British singer-songwriter and musician that was originally born in Basseterre, Saint Kitts (in the Carribean) - though she was later brought up in Birmingham.

Interested in music from a young age, she was often writing her own tracks and playing the piano or guitar. She even once lost a job as she spent her tea-breaks strumming out a tune! Performing her first gig at the age of 16 and performing entirely her own tracks, her future in music was inevitable.

After performing in a stage production of the musical Hair in 1970, she met Pam Nestor, and the pair went on to work on what would be Armatrading's debut album 'Whatever's for Us'. She released a second album in 1975 but it wasn't until her eponymous third that she hit the big time, a record which hit #12 in the UK.

From then on, she was constantly performing her music - be it on stage, or in the studio - and continued to find chart success too, even across the pond. 40 or so years and 20 albums down the lines, and she's still plying her trade!
