James Last (or Hansi!) is a German composer arranger and big band leader hailing from Bremen. Born in 1929 - making him one old entertainer - he has gone on to enjoy a more than successful career in music, shifting over 70million albums worldwide.

A creator of 'happy' music and inspiring compositions, he has earned him the status of best-seller in his home country as well as over here in the UK. He's been releasing albums compositions and productions since the late 1950s and continues to do so today - meaning he has a massive back catalogue.

As well as being a star in the UK and Germany he has fans all over the world who have helped him shift so many different collections of tracks over the years - as well as assisting him in picking up countless awards such as Billboard's Star of the Year in 1976 and an ECHO Prize for lifetime achievement.
