Ennio Morricone was a composer, conductor and musician from Rome, Italy.

Best known for his work on Sergio Leone films, such as The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, he began his music career in 1946 and went on to create critically acclaimed scores for films such as 1986's The Mission, 1987's The Untouchables and The Hateful Eight in 2016, which won him an Academy Award for Best Original Score. He also composed the official theme for the 1978 FIFA World Cup.

Ennio Morricone died on July 9, 2020, as a result of injuries sustained during a fall, leaving behind him an incomparable legacy and a catalogue of original scores that will remain in the hearts of film fans all over the world.
