The Detroit Pistons are an American basketball team hailing from Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan. Established in 1941 as the Fort Wayne Pistons, it would move to Detroit in 1957, where it has remained ever since.

Part of the NBA, in which they play in the Eastern Conference's Central Division, The Pistons would initially struggle in the '60s and '70s, before eventually going on to win their first championship in '89, which followed with another the following year.

Their most successful period may perhaps be the '00s, in which they won another championship and picked up six division titles and two conference titles.
