Cynthia Erivo is a British actress and singer, best known for her roles in theatre and film.

She made her West End debut in 2011 in the stage musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and her Broadway debut in 2015 as Celie in the musical revival of The Color Purple. She expanded into film in 2018 and television in 2020 with roles in Widows, Bad Times at the El Royale, Harriet, Wicked and The Outsider.

In August 2025, Erivo starred as the title role in a revival of Jesus Christ Superstar for a three-night run at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl.

She has won several awards and has been nominated for an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony (EGOT), winning all except the Oscar.

As a singer, she has released singles as well as two solo albums, 'Ch. 1 Vs. 1' (2021) and 'I Forgive You' (2025).

Cynthia Erivo will perform with the Boston Pops in Lenox, Massachusetts, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in Vancouver in August, followed by a return to the Hollywood Bowl in October for a one-night-only performance of her new show, Let Me Sing to You.
