Catherine Tate is a British comedian and actress from London.

Starting her comedy career in 1998, performing stand-up and writing and appearing in the Channel 4 sketch show, 'Barking' and the BBC sit com, 'Wild West', with Dawn French. Her big break came in 2004 with the BBC show 'The Catherine Tate Show', which ran for three series and contained characters such as Lauren Cooper and Nan.

This led to her winning the Best Comedy Newcomer and Best British Comedy Actress at the British Comedy Awards and the National Television Award for Most Popular Comedy Programme. She later went on to appear in the BBC's 'Doctor Who' and the USA version of 'The Office'.
