Buzzcocks are a punk and new wave band from Bolton.

Formed in 1976 by singer Howard Devoto and guitarist Pete Shelley, Buzzcocks are widely regarded as one of the most recognized and influential bands in punk, known for tracks such as Harmony in My Head, Ever Fallen In Love, Everybody's Happy Nowadays and What Do I Get?.

The band released their debut EP, 'Spiral Scratch' in 1976 on their own record label, New Hormones, making them the second ever punk band to establish an independent label. They then released three studio albums before disbanding in 1981, so that Shelley could pursue a solo career, but reunited for the first time in 1989, with several line-up shuffles before becoming the Buzzcocks that we know today.

Sadly, Pete Shelley died of a suspected heart attack in 2018, leaving the remaining members of the band determined to continue his legacy.

Their most recent album, 'Sonics in the Soul', was released in 2022 via Cherry Red Records, marking their 10th studio full-length release.

Buzzcocks have a handful of UK shows scattered through autumn 2025.
